Chetan Hemaraju,
We try to do too much in life and this leads to stress and unhappiness。 Each of us needs to learn to stop “giving a fuck” about the things that are causing us pain。 Choose what it is you really want to care about, and develop a more constructive approach to work, love and life itself。
Sham Issa,
Kadrina,
I have mixed feelings about this book。 On one hand it is a rudamentary, surface level start to giving a good life。 On the other hand there is no new insight or even thought, and a lot of messages miss the mark and are not very polished。 Nevertheless, it is a good start。 However, Mark Manson is clearly stuck in middle school and a lot of the antedotes feel like he is telling his buddies about how the world works in a boy's locker room setting。 Re: Lots of objectifying women and causal sexism。This I have mixed feelings about this book。 On one hand it is a rudamentary, surface level start to giving a good life。 On the other hand there is no new insight or even thought, and a lot of messages miss the mark and are not very polished。 Nevertheless, it is a good start。 However, Mark Manson is clearly stuck in middle school and a lot of the antedotes feel like he is telling his buddies about how the world works in a boy's locker room setting。 Re: Lots of objectifying women and causal sexism。This book has potential。 Once Mark Manson gets out of high school。 。。。more

I think this book is good for people who are not empaths。 While I was reading this book I felt disgusted because how I understand this book is that you only can be happy if you don't give a fuck about anything and anyone。 You have to be egoistic, if you want to be happy。 But I am a exstreme empatetic person。 This book is not written for empaths like me。 I think this book is good for people who are not empaths。 While I was reading this book I felt disgusted because how I understand this book is that you only can be happy if you don't give a fuck about anything and anyone。 You have to be egoistic, if you want to be happy。 But I am a exstreme empatetic person。 This book is not written for empaths like me。 。。。more

Perry,
Cliché self help book disguised in witty phrasing and curses。 He has some good advice, which he has obviously gleaned from the likes of stoics, Buddhists, and existentialists, but backs this up with shallow anecdotes for the most part。 This book still deserves three stars because it attempts to distribute some valuable wisdom to a wider audience who wouldn't normally read philosophy or anything more well written。 The ending was a bit conflicting for me because he came into the last chapter sayin Cliché self help book disguised in witty phrasing and curses。 He has some good advice, which he has obviously gleaned from the likes of stoics, Buddhists, and existentialists, but backs this up with shallow anecdotes for the most part。 This book still deserves three stars because it attempts to distribute some valuable wisdom to a wider audience who wouldn't normally read philosophy or anything more well written。 The ending was a bit conflicting for me because he came into the last chapter saying that consistency and settling were the keys to happiness, but ended with a travel story from South Africa that inspired wanderlust, adventure, and 'being alive'。 。。。more
Diana,
I listened as an audiobook。 Overall I would give it 3。5,Sometimes insightful, irritating and moments of laughter。 Good takeaway is people are becoming more entitled without sacrificing to earn it。 And the more you focus on the important things in life the less fucks you will have for things that really don’t matter but often we let it consume us。
Paeultje,
Aboaaihh,

A good book to look at yourself and how you react to others around you
Kalista,
A second chance read as I stopped reading this after a few pages during its popular days back in 2016? I think, but this book is better than what I expected, though it's an okay read for me as sometimes I couldn't get what the author was trying to say。。 and maybe it's just not the right book for me to get some insight dor。 I enjoyed the first half of the book more and skimmed the second half of the book towards the end。 I learned some things, but okay。 Author is funny with no-nonsense way of tal A second chance read as I stopped reading this after a few pages during its popular days back in 2016? Manish Surve。,
This book is one of the favourites books of mine。 I have read it 2 times and the book makes so much sense。 I will suggest you read it at least one time。 Long live Mark Manson🗡⚔
Sushil,
It’s a great eye opener but am not sure if it’s really possible to follow what’s been suggested in the book。 But it’s still a good read and des make a lot of suggest to be happy。

。。。more
Lindsay Saligman,
The style of the writing in the book wasn’t really for me。 I found the author’s analogies and reasoning to be sloppy pretty often。 For example he was talking about how the guy who got kicked out of the Beatles was better off bc he had a happy personal life, but he also conveniently glossed over decades of lawsuits and unhappiness that preceded the happiness he apparently expressed in one interview later in his career。 The book was full of sloppiness like this。 Also, it felt like the author was t The style of the writing in the book wasn’t really for me。 I found the author’s analogies and reasoning to be sloppy pretty often。 For example he was talking about how the guy who got kicked out of the Beatles was better off bc he had a happy personal life, but he also conveniently glossed over decades of lawsuits and unhappiness that preceded the happiness he apparently expressed in one interview later in his career。 The book was full of sloppiness like this。 Also, it felt like the author was trying to distinguish himself from a traditional self help book, but to me his message seemed to be awfully similar, just clothed in different rhetoric。 Being at peace with your problems and choosing meaning in your life is not at all revolutionary or even unconventional。 That being said, the book did make me think, which most books I read don’t do, so it can be praised to that extent。 I liked the framework of values and metrics in order to judge success and I appreciated the message that one can be truly happy without being exceptional。 。。。more

All the same things that we already know, but told in a different , fresh way。
Chris 4thTake,
A self help or guidance book with a different twist。 Manson’s writing has great flow to it and his personal anecdotes add to the messages he’s trying to convey, but I found it got a little repetitive by the end。 I haven’t read a tonne of books in this genre, but this one isn’t preaching some become the best at everything, it’s more about accepting who you are and the choices you make, just feels the need to repeat that over and over again。
Michael Irving,
Haaaarrrddd to get through
Denitha Hardiman,
as a person who over thinks everything, this book is a good fit for me。 the way manson carries the book also enjoyable。 he makes me laugh at several points of the book。 overall, i loved it!
Fernanda Cravo,
Melanie Treadwell,
If I could give this book 20 stars I would。 If you suffer from people pleasing and anxiety it also worked on me for that as well
Niusha Navidi,
Well unfortunately using the word “fuck” too many times doesn’t make you qualify to be an author。 In contrary to what’s suggested in the book that we shouldn’t consider ourselves as special snowflakes, the author thinks reading about some scattered stories happened to him would be beneficial to other people as he is very special。 The book has not much to say and it’s not coherent at all。 To me, the only reason that it became famous is because of title (which has not much to do with the content r Well unfortunately using the word “fuck” too many times doesn’t make you qualify to be an author。 In contrary to what’s suggested in the book that we shouldn’t consider ourselves as special snowflakes, the author thinks reading about some scattered stories happened to him would be beneficial to other people as he is very special。 The book has not much to say and it’s not coherent at all。 To me, the only reason that it became famous is because of title (which has not much to do with the content rather than one chapter), and due to the same reason he’s picked something similar for his next book as well。 I won’t read more from him。 。。。more

Riley,
The ideas were good。 Oversensitivity。。。。the need to focus on the few things that really matter。 The packaging around the ideas I found unnecessary and a bit more lewd than I prefer。 But then, perhaps such a dressing makes the book more accessible to those who need to read it。
Jonathan Brink,
The book was good。 It was problematic at times as the writer had some unacknowledged privileges but it was still a good read and challenged me to rethink the way I look at my own life。
Aivaras Čenkus,
Patiko, kad ši motyvacinė knyga gan skyriasi nuo įprastų。Problemų suprasminimas gan artimas。 Įdomi teorija atsakomybės prisiimimui。

I definitely see why it’s so popular and there are philosophies I am going to incorporate into my life (the VCR problems segment the most) I think some segments are written very well like the segment about death and feeling alive and the segment about trust in relationships。 At other points though it can feel like Mark just wants to brag about his life and throw in a small amount of insight to make it seem like you didn’t waste pages reading about how he was an annoying player who slept with wom I definitely see why it’s so popular and there are philosophies I am going to incorporate into my life (the VCR problems segment the most) I think some segments are written very well like the segment about death and feeling alive and the segment about trust in relationships。 At other points though it can feel like Mark just wants to brag about his life and throw in a small amount of insight to make it seem like you didn’t waste pages reading about how he was an annoying player who slept with women in his early 20’s。 。。。more
